Terralith Structures

Terralith adds 25+ custom structures scattered across the Overworld. These are not just decorative -- they contain loot, challenges, and unique items you will not find anywhere else.

Locating structures

You can use the /locate structure command to find Terralith structures. Most structure names are prefixed with terralith: in the locate menu. If a structure does not appear in autocomplete, it may generate as part of a biome feature rather than a standalone structure.

Fortified Villages

Terralith's most visible structural addition. These are not your grandma's villages.

  • Walled perimeter -- Stone brick or cobblestone walls surround the entire village.
  • Watchtowers -- Tall guard towers at the corners provide elevated vantage points. Great for sniping mobs at night.
  • Gated entrances -- Proper gate structures with iron doors or fence gate entryways control access points.
  • Villagers, iron golems, and cats spawn as normal inside.
  • All standard village loot tables apply, plus the structures themselves provide excellent building materials if you choose to renovate.
Where do Fortified Villages spawn?

Fortified Villages replace a portion of normal village generation. They can appear in any biome that normally supports villages -- plains, savanna, desert, taiga, and snowy plains. The fortified variant is less common than standard villages, so finding one feels like a reward.

Mage Towers

Tall, narrow towers dedicated to the arcane arts.

  • 6 distinct variants exist, each with a different architectural style and block palette.
  • Found in magical-themed biomes such as Moonlight Grove, Moonlight Valley, Lavender Forest, and similar atmospheric biomes.
  • Interior rooms contain brewing stands, enchanting tables, bookshelves, and potion ingredient storage.
  • Loot chests include enchanted books, potions, and rare brewing ingredients.
  • Multiple floors connected by ladders or spiral staircases.

Mage Tower loot

Mage Towers are one of the best early-game sources of enchanted books and brewing supplies. If you find a Moonlight Grove or Lavender Forest, search it thoroughly -- a Mage Tower is likely nearby.

Spires

Monumental frozen towers that pierce the sky in cold biomes.

  • Massive vertical structures built from ice, packed ice, and blue ice.
  • Found in frozen and snowy biomes, often on mountaintops or glacial plains.
  • Interior contains multiple chambers connected by ice staircases.
  • High-tier loot: enchanted Diamond gear and Mending books can be found in Spire chests.
  • Mob spawners inside make them a challenge to clear, but the rewards are worth it.

Come prepared

Spires are not beginner-friendly. The mobs inside hit hard, the ice floors are slippery, and falling between floors can be fatal. Bring good armor, weapons, and food before attempting to clear one.

Spire loot highlights
  • Enchanted Diamond swords, pickaxes, and armor pieces
  • Mending books (uncommon but present in the loot table)
  • Ice-themed resources (blue ice, packed ice)
  • Standard dungeon loot (iron, gold, food, saddles)

Spires are one of the best pre-Nether sources of high-quality gear on the server.

Giant Bee Hives

Oversized bee hive structures that tower above the forest canopy.

  • Massive honeycomb-block structures standing multiple stories tall.
  • Bees swarm around and inside the structure.
  • Contain Royal Jelly, a custom loot item unique to Terralith.

Royal Jelly

Royal Jelly is a custom potion item that grants four simultaneous effects:

  • Absorption -- Extra hearts
  • Haste II -- Faster mining speed
  • Speed -- Increased movement speed
  • Saturation -- Restores hunger

This makes Royal Jelly one of the most powerful single consumables in the early game. Stock up if you find a Giant Bee Hive.

Where do Giant Bee Hives spawn?

Giant Bee Hives generate in flower-rich biomes: Blooming Plateau, Blooming Valley, Lavender Forest, Lavender Valley, and occasionally in vanilla flower forests. Look for large concentrations of bees in the air as a clue that a hive is nearby.

Valley Lodge

A cozy, cabin-style structure found in the Shield Clearing biome.

  • Single-story wooden lodge with a furnished interior.
  • Contains crafting tables, furnaces, beds, and basic supply chests.
  • A good rest stop or starter base if you find one early.
  • The Shield Clearing biome itself is a flat, open area surrounded by boreal forest -- a natural building site.

Desert Outpost

Small fortified outposts scattered across desert biomes.

  • Built from sandstone and cut sandstone with a watchtower component.
  • Contains loot chests with desert-appropriate supplies (gold, sand-related blocks, food).
  • Sometimes occupied by pillager-like hostile mobs.
  • Useful as waypoints when crossing large desert expanses.

Sunken Towers

Submerged structures found in ocean and deep ocean biomes.

  • Partially or fully underwater towers built from prismarine, dark prismarine, and sea lanterns.
  • Aquatic mobs (drowned, guardians) patrol the structure.
  • Loot includes nautilus shells, tridents (rare), enchanted fishing rods, and underwater-themed treasures.
  • Requires water breathing or a Conduit to explore comfortably.

Drowned and Guardians

Sunken Towers can contain both drowned and guardian mobs. The combination of mining fatigue from guardians and trident-throwing drowned makes these structures genuinely dangerous. Bring a Conduit, water breathing potions, and good armor.

Tips for clearing Sunken Towers
  1. Set up a Conduit near the structure before entering. This gives you water breathing, underwater night vision, and removes mining fatigue within range.
  2. Bring a Riptide trident or Depth Strider boots for mobility.
  3. Clear drowned from the outside first -- they tend to patrol exterior walkways.
  4. Work floor by floor from the top down.
  5. The best loot is usually in the deepest chamber.

Other Structures

Terralith includes additional smaller structures that generate throughout the world:

Minor structures (click to expand)
  • Ruins -- Small, broken stone structures in various biomes. Contain basic loot chests.
  • Campfire sites -- Abandoned campsites with crafting tables, campfires, and small chests. Found in forests and plains.
  • Shrines -- Small altar-like structures with enchanting-related loot.
  • Bridge structures -- Stone and wood bridges spanning ravines and rivers.
  • Well structures -- Decorative wells in villages and clearings, sometimes with hidden chests below.

These structures add life and history to the world even if their loot is modest. They are worth investigating when you pass one.
