Items & Mobs

Incendium adds 29 custom items and 30+ custom mobs to the Nether. This page catalogs all of them, organized by category and location.

Weapons

Incendium's custom weapons are found in structure loot chests and boss drops. Each has unique properties or enchantments that set it apart from vanilla gear.

Melee Weapons

  • Daybreaker — A radiant blade found in the Sanctum. One of the most powerful melee weapons in Incendium, effective against undead enemies.

  • Warping Witherblade — A sword infused with Wither energy that teleports its user on hit. Highly unpredictable but devastating in skilled hands.

  • Withersbane — Found in the Forbidden Castle. Designed specifically to counter undead and Wither-type enemies, dealing bonus damage to them.

  • Chilling Blade — A sword that inflicts Slowness on hit, locking enemies in place. Found in the Forbidden Castle.

  • Greatsword of Sacrifice — A high-damage blade that costs the wielder health on each swing. Found in the Forbidden Castle. The damage output is enormous, but reckless use can kill you.

  • Scarlet Dagger — A fast-attacking dagger with low per-hit damage but very high attack speed. Found in the Forbidden Castle. Excellent for applying enchantment effects rapidly.

  • Blazing Hatchet — A fire-aspected axe that ignites targets on hit. Found in the Forbidden Castle. Functions as both a weapon and a tool.

  • Ragnarok — Found in the Sanctum. An endgame melee weapon with devastating power. One of the most sought-after items in Incendium.

  • Holy Wrath — A sacred weapon from the Sanctum that deals massive bonus damage to undead. Pairs well with the Sanctum's undead-heavy enemy roster.

  • Firestorm — Dropped by the Hovering Inferno. A fire-based weapon with unique visual effects and high damage.

Greatsword of Sacrifice

The Greatsword of Sacrifice deals exceptional damage but drains your health with every attack. Pair it with healing items — golden apples, Miner's Ale, or Elixir of Undying — to offset the self-damage. It excels in short, decisive fights where raw burst damage matters.

Ranged Weapons

  • Voltaic Trident — A trident enhanced with lightning. Found in the Forbidden Castle. Can be thrown or used in melee, with lightning strikes on impact.

  • Trailblazer — A custom bow dropped by the Hovering Inferno. Fires unique projectiles with special effects.

  • Sentry's Wrath — A ranged weapon carried by Pipeline Sentries. Can be obtained as a drop from the Pipeline structure.

  • Multiplex Crossbow — A crossbow with unique firing properties. Found in the Forbidden Castle.

Ranged vs. Melee

Most Incendium structures favor melee combat due to tight corridors and close-quarters room layouts. However, ranged weapons shine in open biomes (Infernal Dunes, Ash Barrens) and during the Hovering Inferno boss fight, where maintaining distance is often safer. Carry both.

Equipment

Armor & Accessories

  • Scout's Battle Helm — A lightweight helmet that favors mobility. Provides moderate defense without the movement penalties of heavier headgear.

  • Hazmat Suit — Protective gear that mitigates the environmental effects of the Toxic Heap biome. Essential if you plan to spend extended time in the radioactive wasteland.

  • Infernal Wings — An upgraded Elytra crafted by combining a standard Elytra with an Infernal Piece at a Smithing Table. Retains full flight capability while providing armor defense. The Infernal Piece is obtained by surviving Phase 2 of the Hovering Inferno fight.

Infernal Wings Priority

Infernal Wings are arguably the single best item in Incendium. An Elytra that also provides armor defense is a massive upgrade. Prioritize defeating the Hovering Inferno to obtain the Infernal Piece once you have an Elytra.

Shields

  • Prismatic Shield — Dropped by the Hovering Inferno. A multi-element defensive shield with unique blocking properties.

  • Necrotic Shield — Dropped by the Hovering Inferno. An undead-themed shield with specialized defensive capabilities.

  • Radiation Shield — Provides resistance to the environmental hazards in the Toxic Heap and Nether Reactor. Extremely useful for those areas.

Tools

  • Hefty Pickaxe — A mining tool with enhanced block-breaking speed or efficiency. Found in the Forbidden Castle. Useful for resource gathering in the Nether.

Consumables

Incendium adds several custom potions and food items, each with distinct effects.

  • Miner's Ale — A drinkable brew that provides mining-related buffs (Haste, increased durability). Useful for extended mining sessions in the Nether's quartz-rich biomes.

  • Suspicious Brew — A mysterious potion with randomized effects. Could be beneficial, could be harmful. Drink at your own risk.

  • Elixir of Undying — A powerful healing potion that functions similarly to a Totem of Undying in liquid form. Extremely valuable — save it for emergencies.

  • Death Potion — The rarest consumable in Incendium. Inflicts every negative status effect simultaneously when consumed. Found in the Sanctum.

  • Ran's Apples — Custom food items with unique saturation or buff properties. A reliable food source during extended Nether exploration.

  • Scroll of Returning — A teleportation item that instantly returns you to your spawn point. Found in the Sanctum. Invaluable as an emergency escape from deep in the Nether.

Death Potion

The Death Potion is not a weapon to use on enemies — it affects the drinker. Every negative effect in the game hits you at once: Poison, Wither, Slowness, Weakness, Mining Fatigue, Blindness, Nausea, and more. It exists as an ultra-rare curiosity and a challenge item. Do not drink it unless you are prepared to die.

Scroll of Returning

The Scroll of Returning is a one-use emergency teleport. Keep it in your hotbar during dangerous exploration. If a fight goes wrong or you get lost deep in a structure, the Scroll gets you home instantly. Do not waste it on convenience — save it for genuine emergencies.

Suspicious Brew Effects

The Suspicious Brew's effects are randomized each time you find one. Some have been reported to grant powerful positive effects like Strength or Resistance, while others inflict Poison or Weakness. There is no way to tell before drinking. Gamble responsibly.

Mobs

Forbidden Castle Mobs

The Forbidden Castle is garrisoned by custom Piglin variants, each fulfilling a distinct combat role:

  • Piglin Scout — Lightly armored reconnaissance units that patrol the castle's outer perimeter and corridors. Fast-moving and alert, they will call nearby allies if they spot you.

  • Piglin Archer — Ranged attackers positioned on balconies, towers, and elevated walkways. They fire from a distance and retreat when approached. Bring a shield or close the gap quickly.

  • Piglin Knight — The castle's frontline defenders. Heavily armored with high health pools and strong melee attacks. They form the bulk of the garrison and are the most common threat you will face inside.

  • Piglin Paratrooper — Airborne assault units that drop from above onto unsuspecting intruders. They ambush you from ceiling holes and elevated platforms. Always check above you in open rooms.

  • Piglin Alchemist — Potion-throwing specialists who hurl Poison, Slowness, and Harming potions from a safe distance. Prioritize killing them — their debuffs make other Piglins far more dangerous.

  • Piglin Pyromancer — Fire-based attackers who create area-denial zones of flame. They turn corridors into death traps. Fire Resistance potions counter them entirely.

  • Piglin Blacksmith — Tough melee fighters found in armory rooms. They have high health and deal significant damage. Found near the best weapon loot.

  • Pipeline Sentry — Guards the Pipeline structure. Each Sentry carries a Totem of Undying, meaning it survives a killing blow once before dying for real. Budget two kills per Sentry.

Sanctum Mobs

The Sanctum is controlled by an Illager cult with its own hierarchy:

  • Sanctum Cultist — Basic foot soldiers of the Illager cult. Melee attackers with moderate stats.

  • Sanctum Ritualist — Spell-casting Illagers who perform arcane attacks. They function similarly to Evokers with custom spell patterns.

  • Sanctum Inquisitor — Elite Illager enforcers with high damage and aggressive AI. They pursue you relentlessly through the Sanctum's corridors.

  • Sanctum Illusionist — Illusion-casting mobs that create decoy copies of themselves. Focus on the real one — look for subtle differences in behavior or particles.

  • Sanctum Apostle — High-ranking cult members with powerful abilities. Rare and dangerous.

  • Sanctum Ravager — Ravagers held in the Sanctum's basement storage area. Released when certain doors are opened. Same devastating charge attack as vanilla Ravagers.

  • Sanctum Guardian — Three Guardians are stationed throughout the Sanctum. Killing all three removes the Mining Fatigue curse. Prioritize finding and defeating them.

  • Sanctum Protector — Elite guards found near high-value loot areas. Heavily armored and resistant to knockback.

Biome Mobs

These mobs spawn naturally in their respective biomes:

  • Desert Blaze — A custom Blaze variant found in the Infernal Dunes. More aggressive than standard Blazes, with higher damage and health. Camouflaged against the red sand terrain.

  • Toxic Slime — Poisonous slimes found in the Toxic Heap. They split into smaller slimes when killed, each leaving behind lingering poison clouds. Clear them from a distance when possible.

  • Restless Spirit — Ghostly entities that haunt the Withered Forest. Partially transparent and difficult to see against the dark terrain. They move silently until they attack.

  • Headless Warrior — Undead remnants of ancient soldiers found in the Withered Forest. They patrol the forest floor in groups and deal heavy melee damage.

  • Withered Scientist — Mad experimenters who refused death, found in the Withered Forest. They use alchemical attacks and are often found near or inside the Ruined Lab.

  • Radiation Director — A powerful boss mob guarding the Nether Reactor in the Toxic Heap. High health, high damage, and environmental attack patterns.

Special Mobs

  • Ghastling — A baby Ghast companion found in Abandoned Towers in the Quartz Flats. Once rescued, the Ghastling follows the player and attacks Ghasts on your behalf. Feeding can be toggled on or off, controlling whether it consumes items you offer it.

  • Torte — A unique skeleton chef who guards the Quartz Kitchen in the Quartz Flats. A named mob with custom behavior and combat style. Hostile when approached.

Ghastling Management

Ghastlings are fragile companions. They will fight Ghasts for you, which is incredibly useful, but they can be killed in combat. Keep your Ghastling out of major fights by leaving it in a safe location. Toggle feeding off when you do not want it consuming items from your hand.

Mob Difficulty Scaling

Incendium's mobs are designed to be fought with mid-to-late-game gear. Iron armor is the bare minimum for biome mobs, and diamond or Netherite is recommended for structure mobs. The Hovering Inferno and Sanctum expect endgame equipment. If you are dying frequently, your gear may not be strong enough yet — farm better equipment before pressing deeper.
