Fishing & Universal Enchantments

This page covers enchantments that apply to fishing rods and universal enchantments that can be applied to any item type.

Fishing Enchantments

These enchantments apply to fishing rods, making fishing faster, more rewarding, and occasionally more dangerous.

Auto Reel

Automatically reels in fish when they bite. You still need to cast the line, but the catch is pulled in for you. Perfect for AFK fishing or when you just do not want to watch the bobber.

Curse of Drowned

A curse that gives you a risk of spawning a Drowned each time you catch something. The hostile mob appears right at the fishing spot, attacking you immediately. Be ready to fight or flee.

This Is a Curse

Found on cursed fishing rods in loot. The Drowned can catch you off guard, especially at night or in deep water. Keep a weapon handy.

Double Catch

Gives a chance to catch two items instead of one each time you reel in a fish. Works with all fishing loot -- fish, treasure, and junk. Higher levels increase the trigger chance.

River Master

Lets you fish in any body of water, even shallow pools that are too small for normal fishing. No more searching for deep water -- any water source block works.

Seasoned Angler

Reduces the time between catches, making fish bite more frequently. Higher levels speed up fishing further. Stacks with Lure for even faster catches.

Survivalist

Automatically cooks fish when you catch them. Raw cod becomes cooked cod, raw salmon becomes cooked salmon. Saves you from having to smelt fish before eating.

Instant Food Source

Combined with Double Catch, you can rapidly stock up on cooked fish without ever touching a furnace.

Universal Enchantments

These enchantments can be applied to any item regardless of type. They include both beneficial enchantments and curses.

Curse of Breaking

A curse that increases durability loss on the item. Each use has a higher chance of consuming durability, making the item break much faster than normal.

This Is a Curse

The opposite of Unbreaking. Found on cursed items in loot. Remove it at a grindstone if the item has no enchantments you want to keep.

Curse of Fragility

A curse that causes the item to break entirely when you die. Unlike normal death mechanics where items drop, a Fragile item is destroyed on death. Even Soulbound cannot save it.

Curse of Mediocrity

A curse that reduces the effectiveness of other enchantments on the same item. Your other enchantments still work, but at reduced power. The more levels of Mediocrity, the greater the reduction.

Curse of Misfortune

A curse that reduces drop rates from blocks mined or mobs killed with the item. The opposite of Fortune -- you get fewer drops than you normally would.

Restore

Repairs the item over time using your experience points. While holding or wearing the item, it slowly consumes XP to restore durability. An alternative to Mending that works passively.

Restore vs. Mending

Mending repairs items when you pick up XP orbs. Restore repairs items by draining your XP bar continuously. Restore works even when you are not collecting orbs, but it steadily drains your levels.

Soulbound

Keeps the item in your inventory when you die instead of dropping it. One of the most valuable enchantments on the server -- your best gear stays with you through death.

Protect Your Best Gear

Put Soulbound on items you absolutely cannot afford to lose. It works on any item type -- weapons, armor, tools, and even miscellaneous items.
