How Death Works¶
Death on this server follows a custom system that gives you a chance to survive -- but only if you're prepared. This page walks through exactly what happens when you die, step by step.
The Death Flow¶
When your health hits zero, the server checks one thing: do you have a Trapped Soul?
Scenario 1: You Have a Trapped Soul¶
If at least one Trapped Soul exists in your inventory or Ender Chest, here's what happens:
Step 1 -- One Trapped Soul is consumed automatically. You don't need to click anything or hold it in a specific slot. It just works.
Step 2 -- You see a confirmation message:
"A Trapped Soul was consumed to save you from banishment!"
Step 3 -- You respawn in Survival mode (not spectator, not adventure -- full Survival).
Step 4 -- Your remaining Trapped Souls are restored to your inventory.
Step 5 -- If that was your last Trapped Soul, you get an additional warning:
"That was your last Trapped Soul. Be careful!"
Your regular items still drop
Trapped Souls are soulbound -- they never drop on death, no matter what. But everything else in your inventory drops on the ground as normal. Use /back to return to your death location and pick up your gear.
Scenario 2: You Have No Trapped Souls¶
If you have zero Trapped Souls in both your inventory and Ender Chest:
Step 1 -- You are immediately banned from the server for 36 hours.
Step 2 -- You're kicked from the server with a message explaining the ban and when it expires.
Step 3 -- One of two things happens next:
- Another player uses a Revival Totem to remove your ban immediately, OR
- You wait 36 hours and the ban is automatically lifted
Tell your teammates
If you get banned, hop on Discord and let your team know. If someone has a Revival Totem, they can bring you back in seconds.
Death Drops at a Glance¶
Here's what stays and what drops when you die:
Never drops (soulbound):
- Trapped Souls -- always stays with you, never appears on the ground
Drops normally:
- All armor, weapons, and tools
- All items in your inventory
- Experience (partial, as per vanilla mechanics)
After You Respawn¶
Once you respawn (saved by a Trapped Soul), here's what to do:
- Check your Trapped Soul count -- how many do you have left?
- Use
/backimmediately to return to your death location and recover your dropped items - Re-gear if needed -- your trading hall is your best friend here
- Restock Trapped Souls if you're running low -- explore structures and loot chests for more

What about the items I was wearing?
All equipped armor and held items drop on the ground at your death location, just like vanilla Minecraft. Only Trapped Souls are soulbound and protected from dropping. Use /back to get back to your death spot quickly.
Can I die in the void?
Yes, and the same rules apply. If you have a Trapped Soul, it's consumed and you respawn. If you don't, you're banned for 36 hours. Your items dropped in the void are lost as usual.
