Resource Packs¶
The server uses three resource packs that are automatically sent to your client when you connect. These packs add custom textures, new music, and enchantment visuals — all cosmetic, all optional to accept.
The Three Packs¶
Stellarity Resource Pack (v5.3.0)¶
The main visual pack. Stellarity adds custom textures for items and blocks introduced by the Stellarity datapack/mod. If the server uses any Stellarity content (custom items, new blocks, End dimension changes), this pack makes them look right.
What changes:
- Custom item textures for Stellarity-specific items
- Custom block textures for new or modified blocks
- Updated UI elements related to Stellarity features
Stellarity Music (v5.2.0)¶
Adds new music tracks that play in specific biomes, primarily in the End dimension. If you explore End biomes, you'll hear ambient music that doesn't exist in vanilla.
What changes:
- New background music in End biomes (End cities, End highlands, etc.)
- Additional ambient tracks in select areas
- Music blends with vanilla tracks and follows the same volume controls
Tip
You can adjust the music volume through the standard Minecraft music slider in Options > Music & Sounds. The Stellarity tracks respect the same settings.
NeoEnchant Resource Pack¶
Adds visual effects for enchantments provided by the NeoEnchant plugin. Enchanted items and gear get custom glint effects or visual indicators that help you identify enchantments at a glance.
What changes:
- Custom enchantment glint textures
- Visual indicators on enchanted tools and armor
- Effects that help distinguish between different enchantment types
How They Work¶
Automatic Loading¶
When you connect to the server, you'll see a prompt asking whether to accept the server resource packs.
Step by Step
- Connect to the server.
- A prompt appears: "This server recommends a resource pack. Would you like to accept it?"
- Click Yes to download and apply the packs.
- The packs download once and are cached. Future connections load them instantly.
Accepting Packs Permanently¶
You can set your client to always accept this server's resource packs so you never see the prompt again.
How to Set It Up
- Go to Multiplayer in the main menu.
- Select the server and click Edit.
- Find the Server Resource Packs option.
- Set it to Enabled (or "Always Accept").
- Click Done. The packs will load automatically every time you join.
Troubleshooting¶
If the resource packs don't load, textures look wrong, or custom items appear as purple-black checkerboards, try the following steps in order.
Step 1: Reconnect¶
Disconnect from the server and reconnect. The pack download sometimes fails silently on the first attempt.
Step 2: Check Server Resource Packs Setting¶
Make sure your client isn't set to reject server resource packs.
How to Check
- Go to Multiplayer.
- Select the server and click Edit.
- Confirm that Server Resource Packs is set to Enabled or Prompt (not Disabled).
- Save and reconnect.
Step 3: Check Resource Pack Settings in Options¶
Verify that resource packs are enabled and not conflicting with other packs.
How to Check
- Go to Options > Resource Packs.
- Look at the Selected column on the right.
- The server packs should appear in the list. If they're missing, the download may have failed — reconnect to trigger a fresh download.
- If you have other resource packs loaded, try moving the server packs to the top of the list (highest priority) to avoid conflicts.
Step 4: Clear Cached Packs¶
If reconnecting doesn't fix it, clear your cached server resource packs.
How to Clear Cache
- Close Minecraft completely.
- Navigate to your
.minecraftfolder. - Find and delete the
server-resource-packsfolder. - Relaunch Minecraft and reconnect. The packs will re-download fresh.
Vanilla Compatibility¶
Cosmetic Only
All three resource packs are purely cosmetic. They change how things look and sound — not how they work. If you choose not to accept the packs, or if they fail to load:
- All items and blocks still function normally.
- Custom Stellarity items will appear with default/placeholder textures instead of their intended look.
- End biome music won't play — you'll hear the standard vanilla ambient sounds instead.
- Enchantment visuals from NeoEnchant will fall back to the standard enchantment glint.
Nothing breaks. You just miss out on the visual and audio enhancements.
Do the packs affect performance?
Minimally. The packs are small and well-optimized. If you're on a low-end machine and notice any impact, the music pack is the largest of the three — you could try lowering your music volume to reduce audio processing load, though this is rarely necessary.
Do the packs conflict with my own texture pack?
They can, depending on what your pack modifies. If you use a custom texture pack:
- Place the server packs higher in the resource pack list for Stellarity/NeoEnchant textures to take priority.
- Place the server packs lower if you want your personal pack's textures to take priority.
- In most cases, the packs don't conflict because they only texture custom items that don't exist in vanilla packs.
