Incendium

Incendium v5.4.10 by Starmute / Stardust Labs is a complete overhaul of the Nether dimension. It replaces the vanilla Nether with a dramatically expanded, handcrafted experience featuring 8 new biomes, 9 structures, 30+ custom mobs, 29 custom items, and a Touhou-inspired final boss encounter.

What Changes?

When Incendium is installed, entering a Nether portal drops you into an entirely different dimension. The most immediately noticeable change is scale: the Nether's build height has been increased from 128 to 192 blocks, and the datapack introduces 3D biomes — meaning different biomes can generate at different Y-levels within the same horizontal coordinates. The Inverted Forest, for example, grows downward from the ceiling above other biomes.

First Time in the Nether?

Incendium is significantly harder than the vanilla Nether. Bring good gear — at minimum, iron armor and a shield — before entering your first portal. Diamond equipment is strongly recommended if you plan to explore any structures.

Compatibility

Incendium replaces all vanilla Nether generation. Existing Nether worlds will not be affected in already-explored chunks, but newly generated chunks will use Incendium's worldgen. For the best experience, start with a fresh Nether.

Overview

The overhaul touches every aspect of the Nether:

  • Biomes — Eight distinct biomes replace the vanilla set, each with unique terrain, vegetation, ambient sounds, and mob spawns. Several take advantage of the new 3D biome system.
  • Structures — Nine structures ranging from small encounters to sprawling dungeon complexes. The Forbidden Castle alone is built from 227 unique jigsaw pieces, making it one of the most complex procedurally assembled structures in Minecraft.
  • Mobs — Over 30 custom mob variants inhabit the biomes and structures, from Piglin Knights patrolling castle corridors to Ghastling companions you can rescue and tame.
  • Items — 29 custom items including weapons, armor, consumables, and utility items. Many are exclusive drops from specific structures or bosses.
  • Boss — The Hovering Inferno awaits at the Infernal Altar. A multi-phase, bullet-hell-inspired encounter with 700 HP and unique drop rewards, including the materials to craft Infernal Wings — an armored Elytra upgrade.
