Stellarity Bosses¶
Stellarity features three major boss encounters: a significantly reworked Ender Dragon, the Terraria-inspired Empress of Light, and the Shulking. Each fight demands preparation, skill, and the right gear.
Ender Dragon (Reworked)¶
The Ender Dragon is no longer a pushover. Stellarity transforms this fight into a genuine challenge that demands respect even from well-geared players.
Stats¶
| Stat | Vanilla | Stellarity |
|---|---|---|
| Health | 200 HP | 300 HP |
| Armor | None | Additional armor |
| Crystal Mechanic | Healing | Invulnerability |
Key Changes¶
Crystals Grant Invulnerability, Not Healing
This is the most important change. End Crystals no longer heal the Dragon -- they make it completely invulnerable to damage. The number of active crystals is displayed on the boss bar. You must destroy crystals to be able to deal any damage at all.
Prioritize crystals above everything else.
Behavioral Changes
- Perches less frequently. The Dragon spends more time in the air, giving you fewer windows for safe melee damage. Bring a bow.
- Enhanced fireballs. The Dragon's acid fireballs are larger, deal more damage, and leave lingering pools that last longer. Do not stand still.
- Flies to Exit Portal when near death. When the Dragon reaches low health, it will fly to the Exit Portal and hover there. Be ready to chase it and finish the fight.
Strategy¶
- Destroy all End Crystals first. This is non-negotiable. The Dragon is invulnerable while crystals are active. Use a bow for caged crystals on top of obsidian towers.
- Bring a strong bow. The Dragon perches less often, so you will be shooting it out of the air more than hitting it with a sword.
- Stay mobile. The enhanced fireballs punish players who stand still. Keep moving in a wide circle around the fountain.
- Prepare for the final phase. When the Dragon flies to the Exit Portal, close the distance quickly. It will still attack, so dodge and strike between breath attacks.
- Bring Slow Falling potions. Getting launched off the island is still a death sentence without them.
Drops¶
| Drop | Chance | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Life Crystal | 66% | Grants increasing Regeneration while standing still. See Trinkets. |
| Dragon Wings | 20% | An Elytra variant with armor, toughness, and 60% damage reduction while gliding. See Armor. |
Empress of Light¶
A spectacular, Terraria-inspired boss fight that is widely considered Stellarity's ultimate challenge. The Empress of Light is a radiant, winged entity that attacks with dazzling prismatic projectiles.
Stats¶
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 500 HP |
| Summoning Item | 1 Starlight Soot |
| Summoning Location | Altar of The Sacred (Chapel of Light) |
How to Summon¶
- Obtain 1 Starlight Soot (from void fishing or End City loot).
- Travel to a Chapel of Light in The Hallow or Prismatic Dunes.
- Throw the Starlight Soot onto the Altar of The Sacred.
- The Empress spawns immediately.
Attack Types¶
The Empress cycles through seven attack patterns. Learning to recognize and dodge each one is the key to victory.
1. Dash
The Empress charges directly at you at high speed. She telegraphs this with a brief wind-up animation. Dodge sideways -- do not try to run away in a straight line.
2. Ethereal Lance (Variant A)
The Empress conjures a line of glowing lances that fire toward your position in sequence. Keep moving laterally to avoid the chain of projectiles.
3. Ethereal Lance (Variant B)
A spread pattern of lances that covers a wider area. Sprint perpendicular to the direction the lances are traveling. The gaps between them are wide enough to weave through.
4. Prismatic Bolts (Variant A)
A spiral of rainbow-colored bolts radiates outward from the Empress. Circle around her at medium range -- the bolts spread out the further they travel, creating larger gaps.
5. Prismatic Bolts (Variant B)
A denser, faster version of the bolt spiral. Use a shield or sprint through the thinnest section. This is one of her harder attacks to dodge cleanly.
6. Teleport
The Empress teleports to a new position near you, often following up with an immediate attack. Be ready to dodge the moment she reappears.
7. Teleport As Particles
The Empress dissolves into particles and reforms at a new location. The particles themselves deal contact damage. Move away from the particle cloud and reorient yourself for her next attack.
The Daytime Challenge¶
Daytime vs. Nighttime
The Empress of Light has two distinct loot tables depending on the Overworld time when the fight takes place.
- Night fight (easier): Standard difficulty, randomized drops.
- Day fight (harder): The Empress hits harder and is more aggressive, but guarantees her best rewards.
The game checks the Overworld's day/night cycle, not the End's sky. If it is daytime in the Overworld, you get the daytime version.
Nighttime Drops¶
Nighttime kills award one of the following:
| Drop | Chance |
|---|---|
| Prismatic Punch (crossbow) | 25% |
| Prismember (sword) | 25% |
| Starstruck Shield | 25% |
| Prismatic Pearl (infinite ender pearl) | 25% |
| Empress Wings (elytra) | 10% |
| Soaring Insignia (creative flight) | 15% |
Note
The Empress Wings and Soaring Insignia are rolled separately from the main drop pool. You can receive one of the four main drops plus an Empress Wings or Soaring Insignia (or both, if you are very lucky).
Daytime Drops¶
Daytime kills are significantly more rewarding:
| Drop | Chance |
|---|---|
| Kaleidoscope (greatsword) | 100% |
| Soaring Insignia (creative flight) | 100% |
| Empress Wings (elytra) | 50% |
| Fluffy Hammer of Justice | 30% |
Worth the Extra Difficulty
The daytime fight is brutal, but it guarantees both the Kaleidoscope and the Soaring Insignia -- two of the best items in Stellarity. If you want them without relying on RNG, fight at dawn.
Strategy¶
- Build a large, flat arena near the Chapel of Light. You need room to dodge.
- Bring your best armor set. Hallowed Armor is excellent here -- the Holy Protection invulnerability window can save you from her combos.
- Use a fast weapon. The Empress moves constantly, so weapons with high attack speed (like Tamaris or the dual daggers) are more effective than slow, heavy hits.
- Learn the attack patterns. This fight is a skill check. Each death teaches you something. Study the attacks listed above.
- Bring Golden Apples and potions. Regeneration, Strength, and Swiftness potions all help.
- For the daytime challenge: All of the above, but more so. Consider fighting her at night first to learn her patterns, then attempt daytime once you are confident.
Shulking¶
A massive, armored Shulker boss that tests your ability to deal with levitation, projectile spam, and heavy hits.
Stats¶
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 500 HP |
| Summoning Location | Altar of The Sacred (Chapel of Light) |
How to Summon¶
The Shulking is summoned at the Altar of The Sacred in a Chapel of Light, similar to the Empress of Light. The exact summoning item and process follow the same throw-on-the-altar mechanic.
The Fight¶
The Shulking combines the levitation-inducing projectiles of regular Shulkers with heavy melee attacks and area denial. Expect to be launched into the air frequently -- bring Slow Falling potions or the Soaring Insignia to avoid fatal falls.
Anti-Levitation Gear
The Shulker Armor set grants Levitation immunity as part of its set bonus. If you already own a set, wear it to this fight to neutralize the Shulking's most annoying mechanic.
Drops¶
| Drop | Description |
|---|---|
| Shulker Armor Set | A full set of tanky armor with 20 armor, 16 toughness, and powerful defensive bonuses. See Armor -- Shulker Armor. |
Boss Comparison¶
| Boss | HP | Location | Key Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ender Dragon | 300 | Dragon's Den (main island) | Life Crystal, Dragon Wings |
| Empress of Light | 500 | Chapel of Light | Kaleidoscope, Soaring Insignia, Prismatic weapons |
| Shulking | 500 | Chapel of Light | Shulker Armor set |
