Quality of Life Datapacks

The server runs a collection of quality-of-life datapacks that smooth out the survival experience. These cover everything from armored elytra to anti-grief protections, and none of them require commands or client-side mods.

Gameplay

These datapacks change core gameplay mechanics to make the server more enjoyable for everyone.

Armored Elytra

Combine an Elytra with any chestplate at a Smithing Table to create an armored elytra. You keep both the armor protection and the ability to fly.

How to Combine

  1. Open a Smithing Table.
  2. Place your chestplate (iron, diamond, netherite — any material) in the first slot.
  3. Place your Elytra in the second slot.
  4. Take the armored elytra from the output.

The result keeps the armor value of the chestplate and the flight capability of the elytra.

Can I separate them later?

Check at the Smithing Table — the reverse operation may be available depending on the datapack version. If not, you'll want to keep a backup elytra before combining.

Do enchantments carry over?

Enchantments from both items are preserved on the combined armored elytra. You can also enchant the result further on an anvil.

Chunk Loaders

Craft a special chunk loader block that keeps its chunk (and adjacent chunks) loaded even when no players are nearby.

What This Means

Normally, Minecraft only processes chunks near players. Farms, furnaces, and redstone machines stop working when you walk away. A chunk loader keeps that area active so your builds keep running.

Use Responsibly

Chunk loaders add server load. Only use them where you genuinely need persistent chunk loading — like key farms or important redstone builds. Don't scatter them everywhere.

Elevators

Place two wool blocks of the same color at different vertical heights to create an elevator link between them.

How to Use

  1. Place a wool block on the ground floor.
  2. Place another wool block of the same color directly above it on a higher floor (they must share the same X and Z coordinates).
  3. Stand on the lower wool block and jump to teleport up.
  4. Stand on the upper wool block and crouch (sneak) to teleport down.
Is there a distance limit?

Elevator wool blocks need to be within a reasonable vertical range of each other. Extremely large gaps may not work. Test your setup to confirm.

Can I chain multiple floors?

Yes. Stack multiple same-colored wool blocks at different heights. You'll travel to the nearest one in the direction you're going (up when jumping, down when crouching).

Multiplayer Sleep

Only one player needs to sleep to skip the night. You don't need to coordinate with everyone online.

How It Works

When any single player gets into a bed and sleeps, the night is skipped for the entire server. A chat message will announce who slept and that the night was skipped.

This also means phantoms are much less of a problem — as long as somebody sleeps regularly, everyone benefits.

Coordinates HUD

Your current coordinates are displayed on the action bar (the text area above your hotbar). No need to open the debug screen (F3) to check your position.

Can I turn it off?

The coordinates display is always active. If you find it distracting, it only appears on the action bar and won't interfere with gameplay.

Mob Tweaks

These datapacks adjust mob behavior to reduce frustration without removing challenge.

Anti Enderman Grief

Endermen cannot pick up blocks. Your builds, farms, and landscaping are safe from random enderman remodeling.

Note

Endermen still spawn and attack normally. They simply cannot pick up or place blocks. This is purely a grief-prevention measure.

Anti Ghast Grief

Ghast fireballs no longer destroy blocks. The explosion effect and damage to players still happen, but your Nether builds stay intact.

Anti Creeper Grief

Creeper explosions no longer destroy blocks. Creepers still explode and deal damage to you, but the terrain and your builds are protected.

Still Dangerous

Creepers still deal full explosion damage to players and other mobs. You can still die to a creeper — your blocks just won't be destroyed. Stay alert.

Silence Mobs

Name any mob "Silence me" using a name tag, and it will stop making sounds entirely.

How to Use
  1. Put a name tag in an anvil.
  2. Rename it to exactly Silence me (capital S, lowercase m).
  3. Use the name tag on any mob.
  4. That mob will no longer produce ambient sounds, hurt sounds, or death sounds.

Tip

This is perfect for silencing noisy animals in your base. Parrots, pandas, and villagers are popular candidates.

Villager Death Messages

When a villager dies anywhere on the server, a message is broadcast in chat telling you what happened.

What You'll See

Messages will tell you that a villager died and the cause of death (zombie attack, lava, fall damage, etc.). This is especially useful if you have a trading hall — you'll know immediately if something went wrong.

Wandering Trader Tweaks

The Wandering Trader's trade list is improved with more useful and varied items. You'll find better deals and items that are actually worth buying.

Info

The Wandering Trader still spawns on his normal schedule. Only the trade offers are changed — they now include items that are more relevant to mid-game and late-game players.

Automation

These datapacks add tools for automation and persistent world mechanics.

Chunk Loaders

See the Gameplay section above for full details on crafting and using chunk loaders for automation.

Cosmetic

These datapacks add visual features and collectibles that don't affect gameplay balance.

AFK Display

Players who are AFK (away from keyboard) are shown with a special indicator in the tab list (press ++tab++ to view).

How It Works

After standing still for a period of time, your name in the tab list will update to show that you're AFK. This helps other players know who's actively playing and who's away. The indicator disappears as soon as you move or interact.

Player Head Drops

When a player dies, they drop their player head as an item. Other players can pick it up as a trophy.

Trophy Collection

Collect heads from PvP battles, accidents, or funny deaths and display them in your base. Player heads can be placed on blocks just like any other head/skull item.

Note

You only drop your head on death. It doesn't cost you anything extra — you still drop your normal inventory as usual. The head is an additional drop.
